Published May 10th, 2023 in Nature, a new draft human pangenome, drawing on sequences from 47 individuals, provides a more complete picture of global genetic diversity. A collaboration between genomic scientists and bioethicists, including Director Emeritus Barbara Koenig PhD, this new reference genome is a critical step towards ensuring precision medicine benefits people from a wide range of racial and ethnic backgrounds.
